Discovery starts here. Children are able to develop their own unique voices through an exciting and inspirational investigation of concepts, techniques, and materials.
SJE students create art using a variety of medium, with an emphasis on art history, faith and cultural connections. From journaling to reflect, evaluate and find meaning in artwork to building miniature “Mercy Doors” to illustrate class service projects centered on the corporal works of mercy to conducting a formal evening art exhibit at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel and participating in the annual Archdiocesan Art Show each spring our students showcase their God-given talents and abilities in a myriad of methods and mediums.
Through weekly music classes, students listen to and learn about different genres of music. They also read, compose and perform using recorders, Orff instruments and through Praise Band. Vocal and instrumental performances infuse our school liturgies, cultural enrichment programs, assemblies, chorus productions and the annual Christmas musical. SJE students take their talents off-campus too, performing at locations like Spellman College, and often receive awards at various musical competitions for independent schools.
