  • Children grow in self-confidence as they experience positive reinforcement through a variety of teaching strategies.
  • Students need a safe environment where all members of the school community treat each other with respect, where the learning opportunities are challenging and enriching, and where parents are actively involved in the school and their child's education.
  • Technology is a vital tool for teaching and enhancing all subject matter.
  • As technology advances, teachers will engage in ongoing professional development, and help students utilize the technology within the traditional curriculum.

It was established in 1954 to serve Catholic families employed at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. The school is located within a mile of three major interstates leading to downtown Atlanta.

St John the Evangelist Catholic School has a diverse student body. We service families from the following cities: Peachtree City, Newnan, McDonough, Stockbridge, Jonesboro, Riverdale, College Park, Atlanta, Fayetteville, Hapeville & East Point.

St. John the Evangelist Catholic School is a Christ-centered academic community of students, parents, faculty and staff dedicated to nurturing children during the initial stages of the life-long learning process. We are a Pre-K through 8th grade Catholic parish school which serves students of diverse cultures from urban, suburban and rural communities of the south metro-Atlanta area.

Our purpose is to provide a Catholic environment in which quality learning experiences enable students to develop intellectually, spiritually, socially, emotionally, artistically, and physically. There is an emphasis on oral and written communication, the use of technology as a tool to enhance learning, problem solving and thinking skills which are important in preparing learners to met the demands of the 21st century. We offer opportunities for students to discover and develop their individual talents and interests. Special attention is given to Catholic worship, family life, justice and peace issues, good stewardship of the earth's resources, service projects and respect for life in all its forms.

It is our purpose to give an excellent education to help develop our future Catholic/Christian leaders of tomorrow. Our goal is to light new fires and bring the message of the Gospels to all we come in contact with and continue to be a National School of Excellence!
